How about he did something so bad that she would not be sorry to see him leave this life. How about she has suffered all her life from the lasting effects of his behavior.

What could he have possibly done to justify her inhumane attitude? You're going to extreme speculative lengths to justify her vengeful taunting and obvious unfeeling selfishness for no known reason.
