I think Rudy draws two groups of pubbies - the remnants of the Rockefeller Republicans who never liked having to form an alliance with the Red State rubes, and the authoritarian republican types who have little understanding of the importance of the Bill of Rights - who see government's job as protecting the citizenry, instead of the citzenry having a role in protecting itself from criminals AND government when it oversteps.

Throw in a cult of personality mindset, and you have the Rudy boosters.

I am fearful that Free Republic has attracted a fringe crowd, and I don't mean Rudy supporters. Ronnie would not approve of how this "debate" is shaping up. We either stand together with the eventual nominee or we shall fall divided.
