I know it's wrong, I don't smoke, my mother smoked when she was pregnant with me, both of my parents still smoke, but leave the damn citizens alone and let them do as they please. The guy keeps the window open and doesn't go through a whole cigarette. What are they going to do, stick a tracking beacon up newborn's arses when they come out of the womb? The Commie's have some strict guidelines on how they want their children raised. They want them smoke free, religion free and gay.

This law is just jacked up - period.

But what's sad, is that there are probably a lot of people out there who think this law is jacked up, but only because they smoke, or they know someone who does who will be affected by this law personally. That's a lot of the problem in America - people only wake up and oppose the nanny state when they are personally, directly affected. Otherwise, nanny-state laws are A-okay in their book. I'll just bet, for instance, that many of the same people who are horrified by this law against smoking in your car are the very same people who think the State of California ought to be able to outlaw parents from spanking their own children, and support the State of California in forcing parents to have their daughters vaccinated with a vaccine for which there are still a number of unanswered safety and efficacy question.

Let's just face facts, this has nothing to do with protecting anyone.. its all about getting people to STOP smoking. They figure if they can stop you in the car with your kid, thats less that you have smoked and they "win"

Sorry.. thats how I see ALL of these laws. Its all about getting people to not smoke.. if they wont quit on their own big brother will MAKE you quit.
