For whatever reason, I had forgotten that and I suppose it makes me seem like an insensitive guy, for which I apologise.
That being said, he was frustrated by life in the Senate. See:

Well life has a way of waking you up to what's important. Whether he was frustrated with the Senate is irrelevant. If he believes (and others around him) believe he can be a great President, so be it. I would put more faith in someone who has been a day-to-day insider in DC and knows how the system works versus someone who was Mayor of NYC.
