Iran ‘to try Britons for espionage’

FIFTEEN British sailors and marines arrested by Iran’s Revolutionary Guards off the coast of Iraq may be charged with spying.

A website run by associates of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the Iranian president, reported last night that the Britons would be put before a court and indicted.

Referring to them as “insurgents”, the site concluded: “If it is proven that they deliberately entered Iranian territory, they will be charged with espionage. If that is proven, they can expect a very serious penalty since according to Iranian law, espionage is one of the most serious offences.”

The warning followed claims by Iranian officials that the British navy personnel had been taken to Tehran, the capital, to explain their “aggressive action” in entering Iranian waters. British officials insist the servicemen were in Iraqi waters when they were held.

Hopefully the Ken Livingstone/ Tony Benn mentality has not taken over the UK.

Britain better get together with france and germany and quickly surrender or Iran might call them a bunch of Islamophobics.

These bastards wouldn't dare.

There would be outrage.

Even the liberal democrat spokesman was pretty pissed at this.

Ok, no one panic.

First, let's see how they respond to the STRONGLY WORDED LETTER IN ALL CAPS!

England can send a pretty scary letter, when they want to . . .

I'm expecting Muslims to pour into London's streets tomorrow. And they won't be demonstrating against Tehran.

A senior Iraqi officer appeared to back Tehran’s claim that the British had entered Iranian waters. “We were informed by Iraqi fishermen after they had returned from sea that there were British gunboats in an area that is out of Iraqi control,” said Brigadier-General Hakim Jassim, who is in charge of Iraq’s territorial waters. “We don’t know why they were there.”

This is real helpful too. SOB's want a show trial and then prisoner trade. After the "peace march" highlighted by burning a effigy of a soldier and burning and defecating on the flag, I can only conclude that there are not enough actual Americans to take these bastards on. Same is true of England. Certainly, the majority here in Western Oregon will support Iran.

"Ok, no one panic."

You're right, I have heard all weekend by the pundits that this happened before in 2004; and that all brits were released safely. However, does it bother anyone else that when Iran acts in a threatening manner, we can point back in history and say, "oh they have done this before..." The fact that they have taken brits captive before does not bring me much comfort in the long run, even though it may give us some temporary hope that these 15 will soon be released.

Fascinating Analysis of Leftist Goals, August 13, 2006

Reviewer: N. Sincerity - See all my reviews

A former 1960s radical, Horowitz is well-acquainted with the Leftist mindset. In this book, he strives to explain the modern alliance between left wing progressivists and radical Islamofascists. He argues that this alliance is based on a common desire to destroy Western capitalism. Leftist sympathy with Islamofascist ideas makes no sense from an intellectual point of view, given that countries ruled by radical Islamists are among the most racist, sexist, theocratic states in the world today. However, Leftists have recognized that they can benefit politically from destructive terrorist attacks on the Western world. A West under attack can be made to turn on its leaders in fear and desperation (as they did in Spain after the Madrid train bombings). Only once people reject current government structures can the Left execute its anti-capitalist revolution and build a new reality that mirrors the Leftist view of utopia. The complete and utter idealogical hypocrisy of the Islamofascist-Leftist alliance is distressing, but as Horowitz reminds us, Leftists radicals truly believe the ends justify the means.

When they took the soldiers in 2004 did they threaten to try them then too?

Not sure who was teaching who, but when Charles has not
dreamed of being an intravaginal tampoon, he has apparently
claimed to have decended from Mohammed (hence the black turban.

In London, on the 30th anniversary of the Islamic Development Bank:
"I am certain that with the support of the Islamic Development Bank
my charities will be able to increase their efforts to address the challenges
we face in Britain's cities and help those younger British Muslims
who feel they have little or no stake in society to play a fuller part
in the country's affairs by promoting community and entrepreneurial development
."
[Jan. 26, 2006, Charles-the-Tampon-Wannabe, The Islamic Prince of Wales]

To 800 Islamic scholars and terrorists at Cairo's Al-Azhar University
"The recent ghastly strife and anger over the Danish cartoons
shows the danger that comes of our failure to listen and to respect what is precious
and sacred to others. In my view, the true mark of a civilised society
is the respect it pays to minorities and to strangers.
"
[Mar. 21, 2006, Charles-the-Tampon-Wannabe, The Islamic Prince of Wales]

At the Al Imam Mohammad Bin Saud Islamic University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia,
"I think we need to recover the depth, the subtlety, the generosity of imagination,
the respect for wisdom that so marked Islam in its great ages. ...
What is so distinctive of the great ages of faith surely was that they understood,
as well as sacred texts ... the meaning of God's word for all time and its meaning for this time. …
it was Islam's greatness to understand this in its full depth and challenge. This is what you ...
can give not only to Islam but by example to all the other children of Abraham.
"

Certainly, I agree.

Reminds me of the Rhineland, back in the 30's. There's a certain kind of person who pushes, and tests, just to see what they can get away with.

Slap them down early, and you have far fewer problems.

Galtieri tried that once, but Maggie was in charge then.

Never underestimate the British.

It is simple as one poster said they want human shields. Would our leaders in the 40s or 50s allow this? Would our great ally the UK allow it?

Never but since we live in a time where our so called leaders are more interested in appeasing these maniacs then defend our country or help our allies. So Nancy Pelosi I bet she thinks if we just look away everything will be fine and if that does not work maybe a nice tea party.

I guess we just have to wait for another attack for this country to wake and figure out our ememies are playing us like a piano and will continue to until we get some stones to defend our culture and our right to live on this planet and not be concerned what the islamo facists think or do.
