Have you been paying attention to the media at all since oh, about late 2003? What do you think the media framing of this veto is going to be at large?
Do you really think its going to be Bush stands ground on war? Or is it going to be Bush hypocrite on pork spending? I can almost guarantee the second framing which would not even be possible without him personally mentioning it will get huge play now. Poor move.
Nit pick. And I think you're wrong about how it will be framed. Though, we'll see won't we?
The dems have taken sides with the enemy, and they now have to make us lose the war in order to get out of a terrible situation... if victory is achieved in iraq, they'll have been fighting on the wrong side and everyone will know it.
This speech was, at its core, about that: the dems are playing a political game. He's calling them out on it. I think it was an excellent statement.
1. The pork was the least important thing he mentioned, and the headlines (at least on Fox) is more on the "Bush standing up to democrats" part.
Which brings me to:
2. You have made your point. Quit harping on it and quit giving the democrats TALKING POINTS with your constant complaining!
Gee, you understand that the media is against Bush.
Way to go. You know it just happens that they are always against Bush.
Big dang deal.
Get over it. We act and ignore their petty nonsense.
I'm and sick to death of cowering before the media gods.
