My dog ate about an ounce of mouse poison. The vet said that symptoms wouldn't show up for a week or so. Then, the poison is spread throughout her system and it would be fatal.
In other words, if I hadn't found the empty poison tray, by the time I noticed anything was wrong, it would have been too late.
