Huge difference this with this set of circumstances. It is not exactly a secret Iran and the U.S. are not on good terms right now. There is plenty of Iran meddling in Iraq via its support and supply of Sadr and his Shitte cronies (IEDs, handheld SAMs), abduction of Iranian military officials, 2 U.S. carrier task groups and 2 MEF task groups in the Arabian Sea, Iranian naval war games, etc. This is not some isolated maritime incident. There was already a lot of bad blood bwtn the U.S./Iran before this incidenct, now you've got the kidnapping/hostage taking of 15 sailors of our biggest ally in the world and you've got a lot of military assets on both sides in close proximity. This is a recipe for near-time conflict. Not saying its going to happen, but it sure just got a lot more likely
