You've touched the overlooked part- Iran went into Iraqi waters to basically kidnap British soldiers. Iran not only violated Iraqi waters, but they did so in what can be construed as an act of war.

The Iraqi government, in conjunction with the Brits, should be screaming at the top of their lungs.

At the GOE rally, there were idiots wearing shirts and carrying signs that said, 'No war with Iran'. I'd like to ask those people this morning if they still feel the same way. Never mind, I'm sure they do. Idiots and traitors extraordinaire.

Time for Iraq to declare war against Iran.

It would be nice to see some swagger from their new government, but I doubt that they would have enough justification with British troops involved.

But it is possible if the situation escalates and there is a cross border incursion by Iran, deep into Iraqi territory and some Shia are killed, or land seized. (for example)

Iran has made this particular blunder before, and they got away with it. That is now coming back to bite the Brits. I think they might be realizing that fact as we speak.
