I'm willing to bet that he would happily give up the campaign if it meant that his wife would be healed. Come on, everyone, let's have some compassion for these people.

Bargaining is not an adult way of dealing with tragedy. Edwards' priorities should be his family, but he apparently has other grandiose ideas.
This is the same man who was willing to put every obstetrician in NC out of business by presenting junk science to illiterate juries. He appears to be not interested in the public good, just what's good for himself.

Like I said, I definitely have my political differences with him. I'm just suggesting that we shouldn't presume that this wasn't a completely mutual decision. Perhaps she thought this would be a good way to keep her spirits up, by staying in the thick of the fight. Every person deals with tragedy differently; who are we to say whether the way the Edwards family chooses to deal with it is "right" or not?
