It may indeed be none of our business; but when a man has a wife with a terminal illness, and three children (two are still very small), then I would think his main concern would be for the wife and for the kids. These kids need to have attention from their parents as they are also going to be under extreme distress, IMHO. Just who is going to be the care giver for the children with the dad running around campaigning for an office which he will never get anyway. Elizabeth Edwards is not only going to be worrying about her children, but going to treatments which will debilitate her and cause weakness and fatigue.
Who's watching the kids???
Worse yet - who's looking out for the emotional well-being of these chidren? What a horrid situation for them. My heart breaks.
You nailed it, Gumdrop.
Kids in these weird political families suffer enough without the reality that one of their part-time parents is dying.
I feel very sorry for them.
They made it OUR business when they called a presser for high noon and drug us into their nightmare.
Indeed. That may be the most important question, who's going to be looking after the children? Mrs. Edwards will be exhausted by further treatments and these children will need their father very much in the weeks and months ahead. In a situation like this, it's not only the children that will need a father, but a wife who will need a supportive, loving, available husband.
My heart goes out to the Edwards' and their family in this tragic turn of events, but I can't help but shake my head in wonder and disbelief at some of the decisions being made.
