This is the university of Stanley Fish, who CREATED PC speech codes. The last reasonable prof I knew at Duke was I.B. Holley, the military historian who must have retired 10 years ago. So, sorry, I don't share your feel-good sentiments.
BTW, I did my Ph.D. research, in part, at Duke's library.
