They use social conservatism as a weapon, and I'd bet my bottom dollar that most of them could care less about those issues.

I'll wager you're right. Maybe I shouldn't say this, but it really irks me when some of the men post about it -- men I think have issues with women. I can't read their minds, but I think it's more about controlling women, than anything else. I am speaking only of "certain" male posters.
