I think Al is running more than heat/airconditioning and a microwave in that house. I would like to know what exactly he is powering - he is using enough electicity of host a situation room!

What a joke. Solar panels would not have made even a dent in Al's frozen food deep freeze power consumption.

Terry Franklin, Belle Meade's building officer, said the town only allows power generating equipment to be placed on the ground level. "Solar panels are generators," Franklin said. Okay.... put the panels on the ground!

So? Why doesn't he live in the cold and dark?
He and Edwards have said global warming will be worse than any war. It would be a small sacrifice in comparison.

If you pay a couple hundred thousand to have a couple of acres tastefully landscaped, the last thing you want is this crap looming from your neighbor's yard. Actually, if you've got money to burn, and want solar power (without the ugly), just install solar shingles.

Solar panels are not genarators, they are either power converters, or heat exchangers. They either convert light energy to electricity, or exchange infrared heat to a fluid or air. A generator is either a magnetic device to generator or a fancy name for a boiler or steam generator.True. The town official (dummy) doesn't know what he's talking about.

Yeah, why doesn't he bulldoze his mansion, returning the land to its pristine condition? He can live in a tent on his farm in Carthage next to the zinc mines.

Zoning law?
HA!
More like a HOA requirement.
Wonder how much old Al had to pay this guy to come up with this BS?
Big Alphonse Crapone Gore much be catching a lot of flak lately for this mansion, his credibility in his crock-u-mentary and his carbon offsets scheme/company.
Pretty soon Al is gonna wish he had never seen that damn Oscar and brought so much attention to himself and his scam/sham Global Warming Swindle.

What "zoning rule" is it that "forces" the Gore family to drive big engine, gas guzzling cars?
:}
To: Sub-Driver
Solar panels are relatively ineffective and for a house that size he'd had to pave half of Tennessee with the darn things to make a difference.

If Al Gore was not such a hypocrite, he would move to a place where he can use solar panels.

What zoning law could possibly exist that would prevent a home owner from installing solar panels on the roof?
Not in defense of Gore, it just seems stupid to me."
Someone might have mis=phrased here.
Might not be a ZONING item. Might be a C C R issue- Codes-Covenants-Restrictions.
These are common in up-scale developments or in large developments. It is alledgely a way to hold the value of all the houses to a single standard. but I have found that what often occurs is that the lonliest busy body in the tract is calling up and reporting people all the time.
While I don't like neon yellow nor purple colored houses, I absolutely won't live with CCR's.
No matter what- NOT allowing solar panels is more than just plain stupid.
To: Sub-Driver
I Gore was serious about solar panels they still could have installed them. Solar panels don't have to go on your roof.
