NO...he isn't backing down.

He will let AG and his staff testify..and he is releasing all communications between the White House and Justice dept.

He will NOT let Rove, Miers and others on his staff be sworn in....just interviewed.

If the Dems want MORE...he won't let it happen.

Ugh...Judge Napalitano..just said that Bush CAN'T keep Rove and them from having to submit to subpoenas...even if it goes to the Supreme Court..

I'm so behind on this story I'll never get caught up, but thanks for that recap.

Napalatano's default position is anti-Bush. No surprise there. Watch Bush win on this, if he keeps up the politics on it about the Dems wasting time.

You can't say the man doesn't learn from experience.

So far as I know every President has claimed executive privilege as to the White House staff with few exceptions and Congress has generally respected that. Napalitano doesn't know that White House staff, as distinct from Cabinet and department officials, generally do not testify before Congress?

I think it's a foregone conclusion that there will be a Supreme Court confrontation over seperation of powers before the end of his term possibly over this. IMO, Shoooomer, Leaky, Reid, Pelosi et.al. will use the judiciary to bring on this confrontation.
