I think what bothers me most about this is the fact that Bush demands total loyalty from his people but yet he will not give his. If he was behind Gonzales he would come out and say so, and say that those fired serve at this pleasure and they not longer please him.

Bush is more than willing to dump anyone that doesn't please the democrats. Sad for a man that loyalty is supposed to be everything.

That statement is an outright lie.

But you'll get away with it on this 'new and improved' Free Republic, where lies about the President and Commander in Chief are accepted and many times lauded.

My thoughts exactly. I think I know why.

He is a typical business exectutive (Hawvad MBA dontcha know). Everyone I ever met demanded absolute loyalty but would never give it in return. Moment you were in trouble, you're on your own. The only reward a guy like that gives is promotions to his cronies....... who are most likely to be loyal.

Read it and weep. I wondered what a business man would be like as prez......can't say I like it any better than trying to survive in business.

I think the biggest mistake Bush made was that after 9/11 he did not clean house - just fire almost everyone - especially the Clinton left overs.

I could understand why he did not do so the first days of his first term - maybe feeling he was not politically powerful enough? It is understandable - but after 9/11 he should just have fired all the Clinton left overs - a bunch who I consider responsible for setting the ground work for 9/11.

stop towing the Democrats line... President Bush is an honorable man who does recognize loyalty in his staff. He did not ask Gonzales to resign and with Rummy the bottom line is Stay at home Republicans let the Rats sweep the election so Conservatives got what they wanted... Don't blame Bush for the crap that the Democrats spew.. Become an activist just like the Left does. Get out there, moveamericaforward.com give them monetary support. March in the GOE. Write the troops. Write editors do whatever you can whenever you can to make a difference or shut up.

I agree. It is a one way street. President Bush is not even loyal to his base.

Regards.
