I thought this was a joke but this is way over my head. As a grandmother of a 17 year old with Aspergers (formerly diagnosed as autistic), I'm interested in real answers.

Things are turning out nicely for our guy but I still wonder what caused this and why it seems he went from a little boy diagnosed as autistic to a young man with great abilities.
