They didn't rule that you have a right to go into a museum and burn an American flag that doesn't belong to you.

actually the courts came pretty close, in that the flag BURNED was the PRIVATE PROPERTY of a person, who sued to get his money back.

the trial court said that he did NOT have "standing" to force reimbursement for his loss.

burning a flag is NOT protected speech. it is a CRIME.
