For four decades there have been rumours that Marilyn Monroe's death was not a simple suicide. Now a Los Angeles-based Australian writer and director, Philippe Mora, has uncovered an FBI document that throws up a chilling new scenario.
BOBBY KENNEDY'S affair with the screen idol Marilyn Monroe has been documented, but a secret FBI file suggests the late US attorney-general was aware of - and perhaps even a participant in - a plan "to induce" her suicide.
The detailed three-page report implicates the Hollywood actor Peter Lawford, Monroe's psychiatrist, staff and her publicist in the plot.
The allegations suggest the 36-year-old actress, who had a history of staging attention-seeking suicide attempts, was deliberately given the means to fake another suicide on August 4, 1962. But this time, it is suggested, she was allowed to die as she sought help.
The document, hidden among thousands of pages released under freedom-of-information laws last October, was received by the FBI on October 19, 1964 - two years after her death - and titled simply "ROBERT F KENNEDY".
It was compiled by an unnamed former special agent working for the then Democrat governor of California, Pat Brown, and forwarded to Washington by Curtis Lynum, then head of the San Francisco FBI. Despite a disclaimer that it could not be sourced or authenticated, it was considered important enough to immediately circulate to the FBI's five most senior officers, including director J. Edgar Hoover's right-hand man, Clyde Tolson.
The report was in effect buried for decades as a classified document, and even the released version contains censored sections. Never before mentioned despite thousands of articles, books and documentaries about her death, it details aspects of Kennedy's on-and-off affair with the movie star, including sex parties and a lesbian dalliance. . .

long after when everyone involved is dead.
Why go to all that trouble? All Bobby had to do was set her up with a date with brother Ted.
lmao!!!
[Richard Boone, etc.]
I should have googled first. When I read Peter Lawford and Richard Boone's bios, I thought, "If these guys were gay, they sure hid it well!" Starting to get suspicious of published rumors especially when Kennedys are involved. I wonder now if those two actors might have said or done something that offended the clan in Hyannisport.
Forgot all about Hey Boy. You know, later in the series there was a Hey Girl as well.
Friday's best post has been written.
Mary Jo would have disagreed with you, given the chance to make it home that night.
I don't doubt that RFK was having Marilyn watched by private detectives, and I strongly suspect that someone scoured her home for possibly embarrassing material before the police arrived on the scene.
On the other hand, just because her doctor gave her a 60 pill prescription, this doesn't tell me that Marilyn was being set up for suicide. Such large prescriptions weren't uncommon back then.
As another poster recalls, there were no pills found in Marilyn's mouth or stomach. (Neither, I believe, were any found in Anna Nicole's stomach.) This doesn't necessarily mean that drugs were administered by needle or suppository. It could just mean that the women died of an adverse reaction to the drugs some time after ingesting them. Their respiration became depressed, and eventually ceased.
The problem I have with a murder plot is that it would involve silencing a woman generally considered a drug-addled bimbo -- and therefore without credibility -- in favor of conspiring with people like her psychiatrist, etc., who had some credibility, and would potentially be dangerous witnesses.
It would have been easier to have Marilyn committed to a mental institution, if she was considered that much of a threat.
It was only about sex so it was okay to kill her off. Haven't the democrats told us so? Must be ignored now ...
Possibly by Helen Thomas. ;-)
Thank the Good Lord that the collective IQ of his spaleens probably wouldn't hit room temperature.
yeh....I can see RFK taking sloppies after JFK w/Marilyn, while normally pleasuring himself with the likes of Helen, LOL
Thanks for the ping. I'll have to read the text of the original report to see what to make of it. Monroe was also caught in the middle of the war between the DOJ and Sam Giancana. According to former Chicago FBI SAIC Bill Roemer, the Bureau's surveillance of Giancana picked up discussions between Giancana and Johnny Rosselli regarding Monroe's simultaneous involvement with Giancana and RFK. At Giancana's orchestration, Monroe was at the Cal-Neva resort with Giancana and Frank Sinatra the weekend of July 27-29, 1962. She made a final call to the DOJ on July 30. IIRC Hoffa also had her house bugged in the hopes of gathering dirt for blackmail purposes. Interestingly, an anonymous caller placed a call to the Los Angeles FBI on July 26, 1962 warning of a plot by "gangland characters" to kill RFK during an upcoming speech in LA.
The Kennedys are scum. Always have been. I've never understood their popularity.
My Italian Catholic grandfather voted for Kennedy in 1960. Says he liked the idea of a good Catholic guy being president. You can just tell he's ashamed of that vote these days. Says he didn't know any better; he would vote for Nixon if he had to do it over.
Monroe kept a diary according to a good friend of hers; I believe the diary "disappeared" in all of the confusion of Monroe's death.
Being a grandstanding transvestite AND the Director of the FBI just don't go together too well, no matter how much dirt you have on "people", or the great unwashed.
There's an old joke about the Gary Hartpence/Donna Rice Monkey Business business: What was Gary Hartpence's big mistake? Not having Ted Kennedy drive Donna Rice home."
