I see. Acting in TV shows is just another "private sector job", where one can, like, earn a living based on one's own sweat and risk capital. I guess I mistakenly thought of acting as just the "extra" dumb version of politics; you know.. the showboating without any pretense of thinking whatsoever... My apologies. (Ronald Reagan excepted; at least he progressed from "not ready for prime time" to " prime time". In my book)

You are a capitalism snob. Capitalism comes in many colors, and many products and services. You right coast types just have the other coast envy of the beautiful people, and the highly remunerative services they provide to entertain the noisome pop culture masses.
