Thompson Seeking Political Operatives

Thompson Seeking Political Operatives

"The hype over former Sen. Fred Thompson has some substance to it, as the actor-politician has already begun approaching experienced campaign hands in key states," according to the latest Evans-Novak Political Report.

"Thompson effectively embraced the Republican right when he ran for and entered the U.S. Senate. From the perspective of the Republican Party's conservative base, he stacks up well against each of the "Big Three" leading Republican candidates. His voting record (lifetime American Conservative Union rating: 86%) in the Senate is more conservative than that of Arizona Republican Sen. John McCain (lifetime ACU rating: 82%), none of his position-switches are nearly as bad or as recent as those of former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney (R), and nothing in his background is as negative as that of former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani (R)."

"Given enough money, Thompson could make a good run at it by tearing down the conservative credentials of the 'Big Three' and then building himself up as a tax-cutting, pro-life former senator. His acting role on Law & Order does not hurt, either."

That looks like a Tide trademark infringement thingie (design and color matter as much as the words). I love to see an incipient tortfeasing in action. It gets my juices going.

You are the ultimate loser for the Torie prize. God, a Thompson ad! Horrible, just horrible! It probably violates McCain Feingold to boot. Are you familiar with McCain Feingold?

That would be mitigatory. It probably will avoid any risk of a punitive damage hit, assuming you can prove the provenance is not yours.

Do you know what the lawyer said, when this number 10 curvaceous knockout invited him up to her penthouse for a bubble bath, back-rub and wild wanton sex?

FOTFLOL! With that, I'll bid you good night and best wishes in finding a winner. You might have to wait until tommorrow. I guess trolls rest once in a while. Seems quiet here tonight.

Shouldn't that be.."politician-actor" ?

Yep, as in "Ronald Reagan, politician-actor".

It may just have gotten a little harder for Rudybots to palm off a NYC liberal RINO on conservative grassroots Republican voters if an authentic, well known, conservative, respected Republican Senator from a conservative state like TN throws his hat in the ring. RINORudy and his easily accessed record of wholehearted support for both pre-birth abortion and partial birth abortion, "gay" marriage" aka civil unions, and total opposition to 2nd Amendment rights, may not look quite so appealing to real Republicans when he's stood up beside a candidate with a lifetime voting record that is 100% favorable to the pro-life side of that issue, plus a similar record on 2nd Amendment issues and opposition to the "gay rights" agenda.

I predict an A-plus rating for Thompson from the 5 million member NRA if he gets into the race, and there can't be any possible NRA rating for Rudy other than a big fat F-minus since his anti-gun record is equally as bad as F-minus rated Shmucky Shumer's.

Thompson hasn't announced anything yet and he may not jump into the race, but at least the possibility that he will run has no doubt raised the spirits of millions of conservative Republicans like myself who have been totally aghast at the dismal prospect of a choice in '08 between a socially liberal collectivist with a D after his or her name or a socially liberal authoritarian with an R after his name.

And you two get on Spiff for his postings of Guiliani's positions in Guiliani threads?!?

Spiff is providing information. Sure, it's repetitive, but the Guiliani threads keep on coming up. A fair counter would be to repetitively post Thompson's support of McCain-Feingold, but that's not what you're doing.

What you are doing is a childish thread-jacking. (Oh, sorry, to get through to you I need to show some 'sophisticated nuance': You're playing effete parlor games. I sure hope I fit in now with you fine people who support the taxpayer-funded-partial-birth-abortion candidate....)

Yes, Torie is being naughty and not nice. Satan has taken over my brain once again.

It doesn't take much to take over a weak minded, two brain cell thinker like you, torie.
