She obviously didn't but I wonder if the husband knew that they were closed on weekends and that the County covered. If he thought police were in the building, why would he have followed her inside?

After reading that a deputy tasered him and he still got away, i doubt "thinking" or "knowing" had or probably ever had anything to do with this jerk.

this was a municipal building that also included the police office. and since the police were off duty, the door would have been locked anyway. my guess is that she went into the building, not the actual police part. but the story is sexier if you say she ran into the police building and found it empty. just more media spin.

Typically in a scenario like this there isn't a whole lot of rational thought being engaged in by the perp.
