03/07/2007 Commentary: Sestak Must Rescind His Ties To CAIR By: Beila Rabinowitz , For The Bulletin
Congressman Joe Sestak is scheduled to speak at a Town Hall Forum being co-sponsored by the Suburban Jewish Community Center Bnai Aaron (SJCCBA) of Havertown and the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia on Sunday.
U.S. Rep. Sestak is also slated to be the keynote speaker at the fundraiser banquet dinner for the the Council on American Islamic Relations, a Saudi-funded front group for Hamas on April 7.
In addition, he has hired the head of the CAIR office and former media coordinator Adeeba Al Zaman as a congressional staffer.
Five of CAIR's employees have been prosecuted on terrorism-related charges, and the group is an offshoot of the Islamic Association of Palestine (the American wing of Hamas). The IAP is now defunct as a result of a lawsuit filed by the family of David Boim, a 17-year-old who was shot and killed at a bus stop in Jerusalem by Hamas terrorists. According to counterterrorism expert Steven Emerson, IAP spokesman Rafiq Jaber is listed on CAIR's early incorporation papers.
On Thursday, Sestak reiterated his intention to speak at the CAIR fundraiser to a Delco Times journalist.
Last month, Sen. Barbara Boxer rescinded an award to CAIR after learning of their terrorism ties. Joe Kaufman, the journalist who was instrumental in bringing CAIR's terrorism record to Boxer's attention, held a protest recently at a CAIR banquet/fundraiser in Florida. Among the protesters were the parents of Daniel Wultz, the 16-year-old Florida teen who was killed in a suicide bombing in Tel Aviv orchestrated by former USF professor Ramadan Shallah and the PIJ. His father was also injured.
The attack had been carried out by Palestinian Islamic Jihad, a Hamas offshoot headed by ex-University of Southern Florida University professor Ramadan Shallah. He had been brought to the school to teach political science by PIJ head Sami Al Arian, a former computer professor at USF who is awaiting deportation on terrorism charges. The indictment included names of 100 people . Among them was Alisa Flatow, the 21-year-old Brandeis student who was killed in a bus PIJ bus bombing in the West Bank.
CAIR is leading the campaign to have Sami Al Arian freed and has raised funds for Al Arian's legal defense.
Congressman's Sestak's support of CAIR must be brought to the attention of the Jewish community. All Jewish groups and organizations should cease any activities with Joe Sestak as long as he continues to undermine national security by retaining a CAIR staffer in his office and aid and abet the organization by speaking at their upcoming fundraiser.
Besides Sestak, one of the listed speakers at the CAIR fundraiser is Edward Peck. The former ambassador went on a trip to the Middle East last year sponsored by the rabidly anti-Israel Council for the National Interest (CNI). Peck met with Hamas Gaza head Mahmoud Al Zahar, Hamas leader Khaled Maashal, Hezbollah head Hassan Nasrallah and Bassem Kuntar, the brother of the jailed Fatah terrorist Samir Kuntar who murdered 4-year-old Einat Haran by smashing her head on a rock and her father Eli before her eyes. Her 2-year-old sister Yael was smothered when hiding with her mother during the 1989 attack. Nasrallah had made the release of "hero" Kuntar as a precondition for the return of the two Israeli soldiers kidnapped by the terrorist group in 2006.
Another speaker at the CAIR fundraiser is Parvez Ahmed, the CAIR national chairman. (The names of three speakers were removed from the event poster on the CAIR Philly Web site after a journalist called Sestak's Pa. office on Thursday).
It would be a travesty for Joe Sestak to speak at a Jewish co-sponsored public event while continuing to endorse and support the radical Islamist agenda of the Saudi-funded Council on American Islamic Relations. The Jewish community should insist that Sestak do the right thing (as did Sen. Boxer) by repudiating CAIR and dismissing Adeeba Al-Zaman, his staffer from the terror-linked organization.

To prevent duplication, please do not alter the headlines. Thanks.
When's an investigation into CAIR going to get started? Sandy Burgarly? Rainbow Coalition? So much work ... so little time ...
PING
Not going to happen, they are "most likely" dhimmicratic contributors, so move along. If you don't, hitlery will release an FBI file on you, or arrange for you to do hang time with Vince Foster.
