The affair is old news. Now AP is dragging it out again (well, I guess Dobson did, though it is something I would expect to see his outfit address). But AP seems to think it is something new, and at the same time equates it to a crime against the people of the United States.

No worries. Though I wish it were otherwise, Newt is unelectable due to his own fault. This story runs as a brush to color other Republicans.

The affair is old news

Newt's lack of personal character, his demonstrated scorn and disrespect for matters of fundamental decency and fidelity are current news.

A man who treats his family and marriage vows with the flippancy and casualness that Newt has demonstrated should not be allowed to lead the rest of us. This is about personal character, and personal character matters in a president. If we learned nothing else during the eight years of Clinton horror, surely we learned this.
