The bs meter just jumped off the chart. I can vouch for him. No real Catholic would support the IRA, that's why they are so despised in the Republic. They are a bunch of drug dealing, Stalinist, mobster wanna-be thugs. There are thugs on the other side too, but none are worse than the Ra. There are good people on both sides too, but none of them want anything to do with Adams. If he and Sinn Fein went away, Catholics would still be a voting block, but they wouldn't be intimidated into supporting a terrorist party or risk having their demographic split.
BTW, I am involved in a charity that brings Catholic and Protestant kids from Belfast to this country to spend a summer together. When polled, 70% of these kids say that the first time the have actually MET a member of the other faith was through this program.

I guess a lot of folks don't seem to mind that it was the modern IRA that played a major roll in first teaching our jihadist enemies the fundamentals of terror bombing. The modern IRA maintained an almost permanent cadre of instructors in the training camps funded by the Soviets for over 30 years.
A fine Irish tradition to celebrate.
