I agree, I also know of several bright, new posters who were banned because they objected to several of the old "Pure Conservatives" who were repeatedly violating the rules and nothing was being done about it.

The moment they voiced their objection of all the spam and nasty nature of the "chosen few", they were banned. While the "chosen few" kept their nasty and obscene rhetoric going without a thing being done about it.

Many long time FReepers also simply left this forum because they were tired of the hateful Anti-(You know who) rhetoric. As well as the constant negativity and lack of constructive and positive debate.

There may also be a down trend on Internet traffic, because people may be getting tired of sitting in front of their computers and letting the rest of the world pass them by.

What ever the cause, it is not a good idea to push people away. Any cause that welcomes all who are interested, can pass their core values on to the newcomers after they become interested. But they must gain new members for the cause to grow and become strong. But, by being exclusive, the cause becomes stagnant and eventually dies.

Ding-ding-ding, winner!!! I've also noticed some nasty people who are allowed to violate the "personal attacks" rule with abandon, while others get banned for a minor offense.
