the problem is - the Bush administration has done nothing to explain to americans what this case was all about all along, other then it being "a serious investigation". And its not going to be possible to turn public opinion around now.

I know some people here consider this a personal failing of mine, but I never really hated Kerry. Until I read this quote.
They had a prosecutor who was willing to charge any administration official. He had a virtually unlimited budget and years to work. Libby apparently told a lie about a conversation he had. If Libby did that, he should not have, certainly not to Federal investigators.
But if there were evidence of ANYTHING else criminal, it would have come out. Fitz is now hated by all sides because he did just this much and no more. This was least self serving course he could have chosen.
For Kerry to gloat like this really pisses me off.
