Here's the latest version of Rudy's sanctuary city. Voters should ask Rudeo if he plans to suckup to hyphenated voting blocs by establishing "new sanctuary cities" across America.
Illegal immigrants "rights" groups are pushing for "sanctuary" cities. Hispanics and Latinos laid out plans for new 'sanctuary' municipalities, in places which now prohibit the denial of public services--such as access to emergency medical care or schools--and where police officers would be blocked from asking about a person's immigration status unless investigating illegal activity other than mere status as being undocumented.
Police officers would also not be able to inquire about immigration status of crime victims or witnesses to "protect everyone in the community, not just immigrants;" this would "permit witnesses to come forward unafraid of what would happen to them."
I grew up just outside the city, hated it and got out as soon as I could. Moved south and will never leave, I've been down here 20 years. While I will admit NYC is an exciting place, it is not the be all and end all of the world. The politics, attitude, the flash and all doesn't make most people all gaa gaa. I would take a tailgate party at Sanford Stadium over an expense paid week in NYC in a minute. Being Mayor of the "Greatest City in the world" doesn't mean alot to all people.
