I've experienced the same myself. If you can make a strong argument against their case, many folks (the Rudy defenders in particular) will choose to ignore you. In the past I've locked horns with many of them, torn their arguments to pieces, and then been told that in the future I'll be ignored.
So be it - it's just further proof that their arguments are weak.
Same thing has happened to me. I think we should open up a thread that is a Rudy vs. Hunter cricket roundup. Whenever someone experiences crickets (for either candidate) they could post to that thread and let others know, leaving a good-natured challenge to the other team to respond.
