"Paul Caprio, a pro-family leader of Illinois whose Family PAC rates members of the state legislature"

When will conservatives understand that guys like this AREN'T the average voter? There are not millions of these guys in the Red States, let alone a Blue State like Illinois.

Go here, and scroll down a little.

This Presidential race promises to be the most vicious and down and dirty in history so we might just as well brace ourselves now and start stockpiling ammo. And all you damn "Republicans" out there with jello for spines better step up to the plate or get the hell back into the dugout and leave it to the rest of us that are not afraid to call a spade a spade and not concerned whose feelings get hurt in the process. We cannot afford to let the f'n libs run roughshod over us without monkey stomping their nads in the dirt. Fight fire with fire and use a bigger flamethrower. W's Presidency has brought the libtard whacko fringes out of the woodwork and we need to eradicate them like the cockroaches they are. No more f'n around it's time to take the gloves off and start throwing knockout punches.

Exactamundo

Let's get it on.....

Thanks for the ping, but I'd have just as hard of a time supporting Newt as I would the current big 3! Newt is great, but he won't take the time to analyze the threatening nature of all the GovernMental EnvironMentalism that is always gathering momentum due to idiots like Arnold Schwartzenegger propounding Algore's GANG-GREENism.

Hey, Waspman! How goes it?

Newt is big on amnesty regardless of the line he's come out with lately. When he teams up with Norquist, Tamar Jacoby, Steven Moore to pen a letter in the WalStreet Journal supporting Bush amnesty, you know he is NOT the one.

Why is it that at such a time as this, these are the only contenders on the playing field?

...the two biggest strikes against Newt, are his big govt mentality --- support for Bush`s free drug program stands out --- and his unwillingness to advance social issues more often.

Of course there's more than job-performance excellence that makes for the electable candidate. Style, personality, past history, overall presentation, etc., also contribute decisively to electability.

This is where Newt can't pass muster to the extent required to beat the dems. The last two GOP victories (both Bush's) were, at best, by slim margins. The 2006 catastrophe showed conservatives betrayed by RINOS and out-voted by the opposition. This is not a good climate for anyone less than a broad appeal to the electorate.

"The last two GOP victories (both Bush's) were, at best, by slim margins."

I beg your pardon, but the numeric margin of popular vote in 2004 was more than twice the previous best. How can you call that slim?

Well, what was the margin by which Bush won? Do you have actual numbers?

I can't find the exact numbers, but it was around 2.6 million.

That was 2004, right? What about Ohio? (just kidding)

What is 2.6 mill nationwide:---landslide, a meager win or a slim margin?

It's the largest margin yet; if it's slim, then they all are.

Okay, got it.

Nevertheless, something caused the 2006 debacle and its' attendant effects on the electorate---which has changed since we last won.

Yes, the voters figured out that the only to get rid of an undesirable incumbant is to defeat him in the general election. Rino incumbants were impossible to beat in a primary, because the party supported them. (and the media's lies had some effect)

Yeah, I think he is. Check that link up in #23. One of his supporters I trust said this: "His take on Global warming is this: No Kyoto. And whether or not man has influenced the climate, we still need to work towards energy independence as a nation. Nuclear, clean coal and more exploration of our oil reserves."

I'm still double checkin his position on the huge practice of coercive land-grabs of private land by supposed CONservancies who end up selling at huge mark-ups to the poor, dumb, pathetic taxpayers who haven't got clue #1!!!

Carry_Okie, have you ever checked into this about Hunter?
