Kyl endorsed McCain and just wrote a glowing article about him. Not good qualifications to be Rudy's running mate.

IMO Kyl blew it.

I think that's the perfect set-up for the "unity" ticket of Giuliani/Kyl.

Ah, but Newt is out there, waiting in the wings. I think one of the reasons he hasn't announced and has played coy tothis point is that he's perhaps looking for a ticket to prop up by being second-bannana-with-bona-fides (playing a Dick Cheney sort of role).

Kyl didn't have any choice, he's our other AZ senator. No matter what, the senator from the same state supports a senator running for President. That's just the way it is here in AZ.

Senatorial courtesy demands that you endorse your fellow same-state senator from your own party.

Even Rick Santorum endorsed Arlen Specter in the early going in 2000.
