States rights cover everything not reserved for the Federal Government by the constitution.

States can make any law they wish if it doesn't violate the Constitution and the BOR.

That's not true. Unless and until the Supreme Court holds that the second amendment applies to the states and not just the federal government, the state may outlaw gun ownership entirely if they wish.

I'm not advocating that. I'm telling you what the law is. If you don't like it, don't blame me.
