Name-calling is petty, self-indulgent, counter-productive. I should know--I've done it. It's a loser. Ann is frustrated that conservatives continue to play by the Queen of what's-her-name rules of debate. This correlates with the gradual decline in support the Republicans have gotten since 1994 and culminated with their 2006 mid-term defeat.
We have the winning issues on our side. The days of fighting liberal lies with stoic emails and statements are over. We need emotion, some knee-jerk conservatism if you will, in order to win over people and recapture control of government.

I understand that frustration. I just hate to think that we need to sink to "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em." It's a roll in a pigsty and a spiraling path downward. It may be what's required to win, but I don't care for it.
