she's just a bombthrower, trying to generate some buzz to sell her next book, at CPAC's expense.

You obviously don't get it. This is what she does..writes acerbic commentary and sells books. She's making fun of a silly liberal at a gathering of conservatives. Maybe there was some Rudy supporters there that were offended. So what? She's an entertainer and a pundit, not a candidate for the presidency.

So...
Liberals are allowed to say ANYTHING, no matter how lie-filled, no matter how hate-filled..

EXAMPLE: (from yahoo's HAL board, minutes ago)

"LOL 6 MORE REPUBLICAN ASSHOLES DEAD (Not rated)25 minutes ago Rot in hell you miserable pieces of shit.
Bus with baseball team crashes in Atlanta, 6 dead"

But if a CONSERVATIVE dares to poke even the SLIGHTEST of fun at an anointed Democrat Elitist, they must bow down before the Altar of Political Correctness and beg forgiveness???

I don't think so....

No, it's not at least half who agree with you.

It's a few control freaks who always insist on telling us what good Republicans should think. Real Republicans don't behave that way.

let her do it, no one is trying to control her speech.

just don't do it at CPAC.

let me ask you - should she have used the n-word at this event to describe Obama? how about calling Richardson a "wetback"? would that have been OK with you too?

we are talking about why she said this AT THIS PARTICULAR EVENT. if she wants to go onto a messageboard or write a column or appear on a TV show and say these things, let her.

have only read a brief quote from Ann's speech regarding this. It seemed to me that she was needling Edwards' employed bloggers who were making use of the word, "faggot" often in a campaign blog. Thus the comment that she could not comment on Edwards without using the word.

Now there is an explanation that makes a tremendous amount of sense to me. Bravo for clear thinking on your part.

.listen, I'm trying to be nice but you must be young or not comprehending....I never ever said what people should think....show me where I said that....you can hate, call anyone anything and feel that way all day long....I don't give a rat's a**.....my whole thing is that she was not on a talk show or writing a book, she was at a nationally recognized conservative event where now she will steal the thunder for that remark....it is about timing and circumstances....and you show your immature side when you say "real Republicans"...I've probably been a real Republican alot longer than YOU

I'm sure when you get control of CPAC you'll show them what free speach really means.

let me ask you - should she have used the n-word at this event to describe Obama? how about calling Richardson a "wetback"? would that have been OK with you too?

Making fun of someone because of the color of their skin or their national origin is rarely funny. Making fun of a priss by associating him with population who choose to live a culture of prissiness seems much more appropriate.

Prokopton,

I'm really not sure you are getting what some of us are saying....it has NOTHING to do with free speech but alot to do with where and when and the circumstances under which it was said....I don't care at all she thinks this....say it on Hannity and Colmes if you must but not at a serious national event......just because you have the "right" to say something, doesn't mean you should say it....it is called responsibility.....not "rights"

Dean called Coulter’s remarks ‘hate-filled and bigoted.’

"Republicans—including the Republican presidential candidates who shared the podium with Ann Coulter today—should denounce her hateful remarks."

If I were gay, Dean's remarks would offend me.

"Is Edwards gay? If so then call him a faggot. If not, you're out of line. Get it?"

Or you are making a joke. A joke about how you can't use certain words or you will face rehab.

Get it?

Are you really so stupid as to not see this?

Right now, I'm leaning toward John Edwards in the primaries. He has problems -- a thin political résumé, a fancy estate at odds with his populist message, and a dated hairstyle that looks femme and foofy at a time when military buzz cuts and Caesarian close crops are in.

This endorsement is from Camille Paglia, whose sexuality is as every bit as intense as Ann Coulter's but pointed in the opposite direction. It would seem to me that femme and foofy is pretty much code from another sexual preference that agrees with Coulter's characterization of Edwards.

From the same column, Paglia had this take on Romney, FWIW.

When Romney emerged, I shook his hand and said, "You're going to be president!" -- something I have never said to anyone, before or since.

Is Ann Coulter still dating that FEMALE radio host from Los Angeles. Or is she back with Matt Drudge?

---It's a few control freaks who always insist on telling us what good Republicans should think.---

I think we're due for some heavy duty political head bashing this election cycle. We need to clear the air and define who we are as a party. The Dims smell blood and are going to go for the jugular. Meanwhile Republicans are suffering from apparent amnesia, having forgotten who they are.

The hell with political correctness.

That is just silly.

99.9% of Americans HAVE NO IDEA Edwards hired those twinkie-little-potty-mouth bloggers...they HAVE NO IDEA WHO THEY ARE...and THEY HAVE NO IDEA THEY WERE FIRED.

Also...I would guess that 80% of Americans HAVE NEVER SEEN "GREY'S ANATOMY" (for the other excuse....)

Ann just wanted to sound clever "inside the Beltway."

All the MSM are going to note about CPAC is that Ann used the "F"-word.

I get what you are saying. You think that a political commentator, known for her acerbic wit, was disgraceful for making fun of a silly liberal at a gathering of conservatives. You don't think this was the proper forum for Ann Coulters style of punditry. You think it terrible because some are offended by what she said. And who was offended? Edwards? Howard Dean? The Democrats? Fagots? The MSM?

Who cares!
