Not only are you deranged, but you are also just dangerous enough to hand the nomination to McCain.

I would advise you to get as drunk as you possibly can the night before the republican primary in your state, so that you will be so sick that you will be physically unable to vote. I would rather you be worshipping the porcelain alter, than doing something even more stupid like actually affecting the electoral process.

It's too bad. Libertarians finally find a republican they can get behind, and it's one that has absolutely no chance of winning the nomination.

It's a toss up for me. Ron Paul or Mary Carey? Tough call. If Mary Carey could get the (former) Crissy Moran as VP, that might clinch it for me.

I don't have the insane hatred that the finger in the air republican moderates have for Mister Paul. But simply put that inward looking libertarian philosophy is not consistent with the dangers that are prevalent in this world.

The libertarian view is similar to the liberal one in that if we somehow just withdraw from world affairs then the bad old Moslems will leave us be. That is just not so. The Moslems need a scapegoat to keep their subjects' minds away from the unpleasant realities of their backward lives.

I applaud Mister Paul for his views of limited government. Would that the republican party have pursued that line instead of the pale, limp-wristed imitation of their rivals.

In a libertarian world Paul would be an ideal candidate. But the world is not like that and never will be for a long time.

Right at this time, I have a hard time envisioning any candidate who can represent my views while at the same time representing any of the Democrat leadership.

No, not both Democrat and Republican. Libertarian and Constitution Party people. He is, of course, a Republican. He's draws heavily on libertarians of all stripes though.

I sometimes think people have forgotten the GOP once had a strong libertarian wing. Some writers believe that it was the GOP's recent big-government and anti-libertarian bent that defeated us in '06. Well, it's debatable anyway.

"Conservative" does not necessarily mean knee-jerk support for spending thousands of American lives and hundreds of billions of dollars to prop up a ruling government of Iraq which is dominated by the psychopathic gang of murderers known as the Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution in Iraq (SCIRI) and the Islamic Al Dawa Party, who are the very same Islamic Terrorist Parties which bombed the US & French Embassies in Kuwait, and murdered 241 United States Marines in Beirut in 1983.

Perhaps you believe that the US should continue spending buckets of blood and treasure supporting this Islamic Terrorist thug-regime in Iraq; but Ron Paul's principled belief that we should not does not make him any less of a "Conservative". His early support and long-time friendship with Ronald Reagan, his record in Congress, and his 100% rating from The Conservative Index, speak for themselves.

I don't know if I qualify as a "writer", but that's what I think.

Paul would be a good president. Too bad the American people are too addicted to socialism to elect him.

True. But when an "infidel" is not readily close to hand, the Sunnis will typically blame the Shi'ites, and the Shi'ites will typically blame the Sunnis, and a-killin' eachother they will go.

Since I'm rooting for them to both lose, I'm perfectly happy to sit back and watch them kill eachother from the sidelines -- as Ronald Reagan did following his withdrawal from the insanity of Lebanon in 1983.

Would you like to be added to the Free Republic Ron Paul Ping List, to be pinged to Ron Paul related Articles?

With respect to your candidate, I will understand that you will be forced to withdraw your support should Miss Carey form a GOP exploratory committee.

If it was a libertarian world, and if Congress and the USSC would actually uphold the Constituion we would't need to be having this debate.

Hit by whom?

The Islamic Al Dawa Terrorists who are running Iraq? They've "hit" us before; what makes them angels, worthy of our continued support?

Ron Paul is neither pro-borders or pro-life. Here is part of his voting record. Ron Paul voted in Congress:

- Allow human cloning (Bill HR 2505 ; vote number 2001-304 on Jul 31, 2001)
- Allow transport of minors across state lines to get an
abortion (Bill HR 1218 ; vote number 1999-261 on Jun 30, 1999)
- Against banning physician-assisted suicide (Bill HR 2260 ; vote number 1999-544 on Oct 27, 1999)
- Extend Immigrant Residency (Bill HR1885 ; vote number 2001-127 on May 21, 2001)
- Against putting the military on our borders (Bill HR 2586 ; vote number 2001-356 on Sep 25, 2001)
