I wonder, could this 'refining' process actually be a planned means to 'purify' the GOP nominee to such an extent that the nominee will be paintable as a right-wing imperialist when the democrap nominee is run against the pubby nominee? There does seem to be an inordinant amount of bickering amongst the GOP faithful over candidates not vetted sufficiently to be viable yet. The clinton goon squad is quite good at defining the opponent so they can be marginalized.
