My introduction to Dr. Keyes was during Impeachment when he did his show, "America's Wake Up Call". He was spot on then - hitting Clinton with a precision that few others could muster. I have mostly positive views of him because of that masterful performance.
However, this ability should not be confused with electoral viability - the two are different. The two are separate.

I missed the speech excerpt, this thread is difficult to keep track of. But Keyes has an exceptional talent at expressing ideas academically. Not electable, but I enjoy reading him. And even when I largely agree with him, he uncovers tangents I can disagree with.
He's not a Bolton, but he'd be a stitch at the UN.
