1. He was not mayor of Mayberry, he was mayor of a city that is over 8 million people strong (or 14-15 electoral votes if it was a state). And a Thirty odd billion dollar budget (1/2 the size of the State budget of Texas).

2. He was not just an Attorney he was a U.S. Attorney

3. That "bureaucrat" set a precedent that enabled law enforcement all across the country to roll up drug dealers and organized crime as well as giving the PATRIOT ACT it's TEETH. Yeah some paper pusher.
