When did they change it from "And the Winner is . . . ."
to "And the Oscar goes to . . ." ?
I prefer the old way, more dramatic, but apparently it was nixed by the PC crowd . . .
I haven't watched it in years. I love movies, but the idea of a competition seems a little silly to me.
The first presenter "slipped" and said the winner is,,
They dropped the winner is quite a few years ago because the connotation is that if you have a winner the rest are losers.. and although that remains the fact, it seems nicer. Guess it is PC, but I personally like the wording now. We ALL KNOW what it means
