Yes, they showed a clip of it also. I also dont watch BW normally (what tree are you Walters) but wanted to see the star interviews. I loved calendar girls & the other two movies that I thought were comparable... raising Ed Levine(cent recall the exact title) & the Full Monty.. clever & fun.

I am starting a cinema monthly thread in March.. YOu will definitely be on that initial ping list. The concept etc is still evolving. I had hoped to do this for over a year.. March is my target date.

I recall seeing it on video at my brother's home in DC(he was with the Pentagon at the time & had little furniture.. we sat on the floor in front of TV),,we both just roared with laughter. I would like to get the DVD of it, if it is available somewhere

Suzi, so many people disliked LMSunshine.. I thought it was fun. Truly a dysfunctional family but a parody on so many things.

I guess with the title people perhaps expected more sunshine?

Letterman had the funniest Oscar line ever. Introducing Susan Sarandon and that Robbins guy she lives with Letterman said: "Here they come now. They're sure to be pissed off about something, so listen up."

This explains why he was never invited back. Hollywood takes itself very seriously.

I think the gay leaning crown might like the female actor title but I think most are quite content with the term actress.

Did you notice Ellen was referred to as HOST rather than Hostess.. It is of course a correct term either way but to me is an indication of perhaps her desire?

It seems to me that many of them in Hollywood realize desire to do worthwhile projects, as they have a lot of values that are not "warm fuzzy" even to them. I am sure it gives them satisfaction to think they are doing some things that are of a lasting good in their minds.

As I previously mentioned, If I didn't have FR, I prolly also would believe the global warming hype.

I am sorry but people who refer to actors by their first names are complete idiots/boobs/dorks/fantasy land residents, esp people ho are conservative.

1) I referred to no editors by their first names in that post, though I did in others. #623 was about an exchange between a director and an editor.

2) It was just lazy. Marty and Theresa are a lot easier to type, late at night when you've had a couple, than Scorcese and Schoomaker. Using first names might not be strictly according to Hoyle, and it's not something I'd do in formal writing, but it was clear.

I have to say that Cate Blanchett distracted me because she was, at least initially, imitating Katherine Hepburn's mannerisms by exaggeration rather than more subtly. Less being better in this case. I did see Eating Gilbert Grape years ago and liked the off beat storyline. My son will watch pretty much anything and I see a lot of stuff when visiting that would not otherwise get a chance on my own home screen. The F word gets on my last nerve by it's overuse and obvious catering to the alpha element in the audience. I can handle it but there is always the thought that expanding their vocabulary, and maybe elevating their thinking some, with a wider variety of expressive words would be an opportunity for a creative writer looking to be different from the herd. On the plus side, maybe it is a compromise for not using religious profanity which seems rather rare, at least for the few movies we watch. I haven't seen any Johnny Depp movies lately, what do you recommend?

When I watched that movie it was like watching a train wreck, I just couldn't stop. In fairness to the talent, my understanding is they didn't know about the "inserts" Guccione was putting in until it was too late for them to do anything about it.
