As a citizen of the United States of America and thereby a member of it's "Government of the People" I hereby give you, Israel, the authority to fly over any nation you need (including but not limited to Iraq) in order to insure the total destruction of any Iranian nuclear facilities you may find. Oh... Please take out Ahmadinejad and his administration while you're at it.
Best wishes. Our prayers are with you.

Beautiful.
Plant the story and then deny it.
And then do it when it's least expected.
Perfect!

I went through the muslim oil embargo of '73. Any Israeli strike will be very precision and hit only the 'N' facilities, just like they did with Iraq some years back when Saddam was in power. The USA does not hold any influence over Israeli determination. They will do what they want to do, with or without our blessing. They are a soverign nation and will do what is in their own interests. We can either get in their way or look the other way.

Cheering Israel on is cowardice on our part.
Iran is as much a threat to us (and Europe) as it is to Israel. As we speak (type) Iran is killing OUR soldiers. Iran is selling nuclear technology to others who are our enemy. Iran overtly declared war on us when they invaded our Embassy and help our Ambassador and diplomatic staff hostage for 444 days.
We are the Big Boys - we need to do the job, not hand it off to the little guys.
America could and should do this without any permission from anyone.

This article is propaganda.
1. The source is a supposed anonymous, unnamed Israeli defense source.
2. While giving the appearance of using facts, the facts reported are irrelevant. It makes no difference to this airstrike issue that the Mossad chief was asked to remain in office. It makes no difference that a military person had the Iran issue placed under his watch....of course it was under someone's watch. Neither of those 2 facts have anything to do with an anonymous report about an Israeli airstrike against IRan.
3. The Israeli Defense Minister denies claims such as these.
This is someone in either Britain or Israel attempting to undercut any attempt by Israel to launch a pre-emptive strike against Iran.

Israel would lead the charge, and consequences will inevitably have us follow.

You are 100% correct. An Israeli airstrike at this particular time against a Muslim country, be it Sunni or Shia, would inflame the entire middle east and seriously damage any progress we are making in Iraq. In the end, if all diplomatic efforts fail to stop the Iranians, then yes, hit em' and hit em' hard. But not now.

They can ask, but The US would have to clear it with the sovereign Iraqi Government. I think.

Israel=Billy Badass!!!! Remember when they flew into Iraq: planes 20 feet above the ground; F-14s with concrete barriers attached to their bottoms; busted the center area of the nuclear facility with the barriers; F-16s went in and shot missles inside the opening; many French scientists were killed. Haha! I believe that the Israelis didn't even lose a single fighter. I wonder though the state of Iran's air force in regards to a counter-attack compared to Iraq's. Isn't Iran's a lot stronger?

If we let Israeli bombers fly over Iraq and "allow the Jews to slaughter innocent Muslim women and children asleep in their beds" -- well, that will make 1973 look like a walk in the park. I can't think of a better way to pi$$ off a billion Muslims. I don't know what causes your blatant disgust with Israel, but your analysis is wrong. All the Sunni countries would welcome a neutering of Iran because they fear a nuclear Iran as much as we do. Israel is only slightly more fearful than the Gulf states are.
Sure, some idiots arabs on the street will object to anything Israel does, but the leaders of those countries will be silently cheering Israel on.

(One has to wonder why we call Israel our "strategic partner in the Mideast" when we haven't and won't use them.) Our first preference is to use Arabs to do their own dirty work. When that works we don't use Israel.

This is the lame stream medias attempt to de fang any attempt by Israel. They figure by stating this as fact it will ensure that it will place us on the defensive by denying both that Israel has asked or that we would give them the go ahead.
