Sometimes the way things appear are not the way they really are either.

By certain measuring tools, the Earth appears to be billions of years old. Some make the (philosophical rather than scientific) argument that this means that if the Bible is literally true as to the six day creation, then God is trying to fool us.

Not necessarily. First, Genesis declares right up front that God created things with time built into them: trees, animals, Man, and so on. Second, the measuring tools we use for time are not specifically endorsed by the Bible, so it is disingenuous to claim fraud on God's part.

What people need to realize is that science shows, by current estimates, and using our best current tools, for the Earth and Universe to CONTAIN billions of years of activity. Relativity demonstrates in a scientifically predictable fashion, that time elapses at different rates in different places based on things like gravity, speed and direction of travel.

Science does not use a time measurement to show the Earth circling its Sun billions of times. That is unlikely.
