to me this was telling "Stanton, with Gerards support, had planned to go public in June so his son could be out of town when the news broke. But that changed this week after the Times heard of possible changes in Stantons life and approached him"
So the hell with his son and how it impacts him - just as long as he's controlling the story.
Controlling the story is part of how this will impact his son. I don't have a lot of sympathy for the guy for not letting his wife know about this before she married him, but I'm sure he's trying to minimize the impact on his family.
