Better a RINO than a Democrat. Push comes to shove, we are better off with someone who holds MOST of our values, rather than none at all.

Better to let your husband run around than have him leave, huh?

Rudy holds almost none of my values, but then again, I don't expect him to, I'm conservative, he's a liberal.

Actually, we'd be better off with a Democrat. At least with a Democrat, you know what to expect. RINOs, on the other hand, are flighty. Maybe Rudy will stab you in the back today and maybe he won't. Who knows?! With Hillary, you know going in that she's got the dagger in her hand.

(Or to quote an old Klingon proverb: Keep your friends close; but, keep your enemies closer.)

From the Advocate, US-based national gay and lesbian newsmagazine

So it was a big loss to the gay and lesbian voters -- and queer Republicans in particular -- when Giuliani withdrew from the Senate race last Friday. In his six years as mayor, Giuliani has racked up one of the most impressive gay rights records in the nation, often going against his own party to do so. The man who is likely to take his place as the Republican nominee, Rep. Rick Lazio of Long Island, has a less established record on these issues. While he has supported some GLBT-positive legislation (his district includes Fire Island, after all), most of his votes have been cast against gay rights.

MOST of our values

Maybe most of your values, but not most Republican values. I don't have anymore in common with RINOS, than I do any other liberal.

Hogwash. I'd rather have an enemy that makes no bones about being my enemy, than one that masquerades as my friend.
