The real issue is my dimmer switch controlled lights and 3-way lights. The new lights don't work, they have only one output level. Think of all the dimmer switch and three-way light factory employees that will be unemployed.

On a serious note, has anyone examined the eviro impact of the disposal of these lights when they become the norm?

Dimmable bulbs exist, but they are super expensive.

Dimmer switched fluor. may be a problem but 3-way are out there.
I'm using 2 in my house. I think they are 60-100-150 watt equivalent.

The one thing I've noticed is there is a delay in the max brightness of fluor. bulbs. I'm noticing several seconds to a minute or so.
