This wisp of a notion is simply this: Maybe a Democrat should win in 2008.
Personally, I dont believe in this poltergeist, at least not yet. But every now and then, I must confess, I do shiver from its touch.
The idea goes something like this: If you believe that the war on terror is real really real then you think it is inevitable that more and bloodier conflicts with radical Islam are on the way, regardless of who is in the White House. If the clash of civilizations is afoot, then the issues separating Democrats and Republicans are as pressing as whether the captain of the Titanic is going to have fish or chicken for dinner. Theres a showdown coming. Period. Full stop. My task isnt to convince you that this view is correct (though I basically believe it is), but merely that it is honestly and firmly held by many on the right and by a comparative handful on the left.

And he's wrong.
Please remember that the Republican won 5 of last 7 Presidential election despite the liberal media being 100% with the democrats. Moreover the liberal media have less monopoly on the news than ever before in history, and our side of the media (talk radio and internet) is growing faster and bigger day after day.
Spot on post!
"Jonah has lost his mind"
I know, I was surprised as well. I really like Sessions.
EXACTLY !
Ralph Nader has said he is going to run, if Hillary is the nominee. Frankly, I think he'll run no matter WHO the Dem nominee is.
Newt's NOT going to run.
Bump to that except that you forgot to call the Dems Quisling-Americans...
And the 'American' part is merely vestigial...

This is thumbsucking nonsense.
Anyone who wants a Democrat to win is not a Republican nor Conservative.
You have been bought lock stock and barrel. Hey how about sealing the deal and post your "coke head" rant again. You are despicable.
The grassroots can get away with presenting all the ugly and disgusting truth about Hillary. Hillary is a corrupt, power hungry abortionist monster! She and her entire cowardly, treasonous Democrat/socialist coalition are working to lose the war and bring down America. And we have plenty of ammunition to back it up. They present it daily in the congress, in their speeches and in the press. We need to package it up, get it condensed to sound bites and full videos on the net and on CD and mass distribute it through a grassroots network. The truth about Hillary and the Democrats comes through in their own nasty words and evil deeds.
Our candidate will present a clear choice between Hillary's treasonous, godless, corrupt doom & gloom socialism vs true blue traditional American patriotism, can do American optimism, a will to fight and win for freedom over terrorism & tyranny, and a plan to strengthen America through renewed confidence in capitalism, individualism, hard work, freedom and independence from government intrusion and heavy tax burden.
I don't envision picking up any of the NARAL, NOW, antiwar, socialist vote. Not even marketing to them. Marketing against them. Lay it all out and let the people decide. We're not going to lose any of our own and I'm sure we will pick up the majority of the mushy middle and those who may be doubtful in their heart of hearts on whether or not a butch socialist butcher like Hillary Clinton as President would be a good thing in the long run for America. Shine the light on good vs evil and lead the people to the correct answer.
Here's a post I made earlier this evening using Duncan Hunter as an example:
To: Dog Gone
And I'm saying that we'd better know before we settle on a candidate to back in the primaries whether or not he is even electable at all in the general.
We only get one shot in each election. If your "trick" pony gets the nod in the primary, but fails to enthusiastically turn out the conservative base in the general, we're toast.
It's my concern that Rudy is unelectable in the general. I don't care how many socially liberal or moderate primary voters swear by him on these boards or in the polls or whether or not the media says he's the Republican frontrunner, he will not turn out the base, will not gain the enthusiastic support of the grassroots and he will lose to Hillary Clinton in the general. Same goes for the media's last choice that they tried to foist on us, John Benedict Arnold McCain. Neither are electable in the general.
If either of these two turkeys win the nomination in the primary, we say hello to President Clinton. And that is a reality we'd better face now, BEFORE the primary election.
As to Hunter, he looks like a great conservative patriot with all the right stuff. Should he get the support of the grassroots, I believe he would be electable.
His campaign in the general should be HARD HITTING on a handful of key mainstream issues:
Win the war! Dammit!
Secure the borders already!
Stop the pandering of illegals and their employers!
Adopt sound fiscal policies! ("This is not your father's president)"
Cut spending!
Continue cutting taxes!
We're not mambly pambly cowardly Democrats and we're not compassionate conservatives! We offer real, no nonsense solutions to the dangers facing America and our way of life! Develop a package of Reaganesque approaches and solutions.
Given a choice between this program and Hillary's, Hunter would win in a landslide. I can't think of a single red state he would lose with this platform and I believe some of the purple states would swing his way too.
Even a few blue states like California. Hey, we don't want illegals here either. Republicans, conservatives, Reagan Democrats, veterans, swing voters, people who've lost their jobs and livelihoods to illegal aliens, or have been victims of illegal alien crime, etc, etc, etc, will go for a strong program of winning the war and actually stopping the illegals. California voters tried to stop it through the ballot box, but our anti illegal alien laws were thrown out by the liberal judiciary. And we're also tired of "social liberals" here. We have the tread marks on our backs to prove it. California will go for Hunter!
And he doesn't have any of the Rudy liberal baggage. The base and the grassroots will not have to contend with that garbage. Give them a real honest to God conservative to back and they will enthusiastically support and campaign for the man and the cause! It's been a long time since the Republicans put up a real winner.
Market him as another Reagan! He's the real deal. And his campaign would be a winner!

Newt knows that he cannot win neither the primaries and for sure he knows that he cannot win the general elections.
It doesn't exist outside of his own mind.
Huh? Do you mean to say that Jeb Bush should be our nominee?
Get lost.
Sorry about the "QUISLING" omission.
