Wanna see a sad movie? Graveyard of the Fireflies.

The saddest movie ever made. I felt really sad for the girl, but anger towards the boy for continually making wrong decision after wrong decision even when told he should do something different by the adults around him.

Re "Fireflies." That was a perceptive comment on your part. I use this film in some of my university courses and students don't often catch that. They tend to want to see it simply as a sad anti-war movie.

The saddest cartoon I ever saw was "The Plague Dogs" in which the two plucky dogs die - rather than the wonderful Richard Adams book in which the dogs live happily ever after.

I was furious!!
