Personally, I've always considered his rhetoric to be rather shallow and pedestrian.
I'm always surprised when folks mistake Professor Gingrich's pedantic style for brilliance.
Give me a break. He realizes that we gotta have a winner with an R, and work on his policies that way. Bush has socially done all the things we didn't want him to do basically. AWB support and so on.
The thing is, it's politics. I think Rudy's got it, right now. Unless there's a major change coming up, he'll be the R rep, and will probably win. The alternatives are hillary/obama.
Having seen your posts for years, I interpret that to mean that Newt failed to parrot your own dogma. It's no secret that you live in a simple black and white world where the saints all agree with you and the sinners never do. That is to say that criticism from you quarter is essentially meaningless, just in case I wasn't clear.

Newt is brilliant. Unfortunately he doesn't have the charm and charisma to convince soccer moms who watch Katie, the View or Oprah or guys who only read FHM that limited government will benefit them. It's too bad that people are stupid/too preoccupied to listen and understand. He'd be a great President.
