I have written to him more than once, and if your questions are in disagreement with him he does not respond. My district needs to see an end to the Duncan empire.
Add Virginia's Tom Davis to that list.
I'm not surprised. I walked out of a speech he gave 2 years ago. He was not supportive of the war then.
I'm not surprised, nor am I surprised about Delaware's Mike Castle.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but when the Republicans were in "control" (excuse me while I stifle laughter) of the Congress, didn't most, if not all, significant votes assume 100% lockstep agreement re the Democrats?
With the very rare exceptions of Ben Nelson and Joe Liebermann, you never, ever have to worry about Democrats breaking ranks.
These people suck.
Welll gee big surprise with Hopeless Hagel and Snowjob Snowe. Some of the others need a definite swift kick, but all that energy is wasted on Hagel and Snowe.
I just voiced my displeasure to Representative Walter B. Jones of North Carolina.
Many see an (R) by the name and don't look any farther sadly
So you are one of those believing a four year war costing 3,000 lives is badly run? Thank God you weren't not around when an HOUR'S time saw more deaths in some battles. Or when taking small islands killed TWICE as many men.
My God the media's brainwashing is almost complete.
Oh, and there was a "nation" of Iraq before we got there. What is happening there is the establishment of a government representative of the Iraqi people.
BIG difference between the reality and your claim.
When he first ran years ago I thought he was a twit, but over time I've come to respect him to a degree. I was REALLY surprised at his vote. I know a few soldiers in his district that won't be too pleased either.
That was the impression I had too.
I was worried about his reelection last time with all the NewYoricans flooding into his district, but I didn't know it extended to Ocala.
But, perhaps he is pandering...
ah. walberg's mine too. have you heard anything about how he's doing?
Reads just like a list of traitors, so it must be.
This is what I'm sending out to all the people on my email lists:
We are quite aware that the 60's radicals/anti-war left that comprise the base of the RAT party are demanding that they defund the war effort one way or the other. This "non-binding Resolution" these "Hanoi-Jane" Rats have come up with is merely an effort to see how many spineless Republicans they can peel off on the first go-round of the next SNEAKY steps they plan to take to do exactly that. The RATS don't have the guts to do what the Republicans want them to do - have an up or down vote on funding the troops and the war effort. They know the American people wouldn't stand for that and they will in no way go on the record voting for what they know will result in another Vietnam-type debacle. Instead - they have a devious "gradual" plan to defund the troops incrementally, behind the scenes so the public won't actually know what they're really up to.
Wednesday, 14 February 2007 "The most depressing --- and disturbing -- spectacle of this morning's House debates on the Democrats proposed resolution opposing the surge was the sight of a handful of Republican Representatives rising to speak in favor of the resolution.
We've made a point here at The Victory Caucus to highlight those leaders who are standing firm on the war and who are committed to victory. Now, however, it is time to focus on those of our leaders who are choosing what they perceive (wrongly) to be the politically expedient course instead of what they must know is the right course. The reality of the mathematics in the House is grim: it is highly likely, if not certain, that the Democrats have sufficient votes to ensure that their resolution passes. Our goal, then, is to minimize its margin of passage: and in particular, to convince those who should know better --- our Republican members of Congress -- to do the right thing.
I would therefore ask each of you to contact your own Representative, and ask their staff to go on-the-record stating that they will oppose the Democrats' resolution. If they refuse, ask why not, and express your disappointment in their decision. Only a definitive, on-the-record "yes we will vote against the resolution" will do.
Beyond your own Representative, I would also encourage you to contact all of the Representatives listed here: http://www.victorycaucus.com/ These are some of the Republican Representatives who rose today to speak against the troop surge, and in favor of the Democrats' resolution. Call them; fax them; email them, and make clear that to oppose the President's plan to win this war is simply unacceptable."
My Rep. is Ric Keller whose contact information I'm providing below for those of you who want to warn him not to follow through on siding with the DemocRATS "Non-Binding Resolution", or any of their other proposals.
