FOR decades, intelligence agencies have assured the world that Kim Jong Il, the dictator of North Korea, is a psychopathic lunatic with a massive collection of pornography and a habit of kidnapping people from Japan, Hong Kong and South Korea to serve his whims.

Any deal with Kim is going to be putrid. From what I have been reading about NK the regime is already loosing control. The question that I have heard asked by experts has been: Will NK implode or explode. I don't like the deal, but I think it may help to avoid the explosion. This is only the first deal in the process, we will see how things go from here.

As much as I dislike it, it's probably our best option for now IF we hold them to their end of the deal. The value of taking NK out of the equation for now is incalculable.

"But a lunatic Kim is not. He is a master geopolitician. Though we don't yet know the terms of the tentative deal announced yesterday under which North Korea has supposedly agreed to end its nuclear program, chances are very good that once again Kim has forced the world's powers - including the United States - to pay him a massive bribe that will help him maintain his stranglehold on power."

Isn't he jumping the gun a bit w/o knowing what the deal was?

I dont have a problem with the deal as long a Chia head keeps his part of the bargain.

Thats is where the problem is.

Suppose he doesnt destroy his reactor as promised?
Suppose he pulls the same crap he pulled on Clinton and Mad Maddy.

What do we do then?
I wouldnt trust this guy as far as I could throw the Jerrald ( Jabba the Hut) Nadler.

Due to the lack of trust I think this is laid out in increments.

You shouldn't try to deal with liars and maniacs. Didn't anyone learn anyting from attempting to deal with Hitler?

Youv'e got to be kidding. Look at the last time when Maddie Halfbright gave them 500,000 tons of oil and two light water reactors to stop. Did it work HELL NO it didn't they just went merrily on their way while the American people paid the price and you seem to want to do it over again only even bigger. As much as I hate the thought of the average NK citizen suffering for this despots acts it just has to be done the only ones that will benefit from food suppies is this LITTLE PISSANTS army.

What IS IT with conservatives who race each other to be the first to accuse GWB of selling out his core principles on fill-in-the-blank: judicial appointments, Iraq, Iran, North Korea, intelligence gathering, etc.? I for one am inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt about having dragged the Japanese, the South Koreans, the Chinese, and the Russians, kicking and screaming all the way, a small but important step in the right direction here with this tentative agreement, rather than to assume that he has suddenly decided to punt it to his successor.

I EXPECT this from liberals. What’s OUR excuse?
